A PLACE FULL OF HISTORY

Villa Cosmiana

The villa, originally a medieval tower, took on the appearance we know today in 1850, when Duke Amerigo Antinori commissioned the great Florentine architect Giuseppe Poggi to convert the old country manor house of his ancestors into an elegant Risorgimento residence.

VILLACOSMIANA

A precious selection OF WINES

The villa, which shows evidence of its existence back to the 17th century, took todays’ general form when it entered the Antinori family estate in 1783.

In that year, senator Amerigo Antinori (1748-1828), a close adviser to the Grand Duke of Tuscany, converted the old country mansion that had recently been brought to him as a dowry by his young bride, into his residence when staying on his Pisan estates.

Exceptional tastings and stays at the villa

On Thursdays and/ or Fridays, by reservation only, Villa Cosmiana offers a tasting with light lunch prepared by the chef from Ristorante Pasticceria Ferretti, Peccioli where the five wines of the estate are presented and served.

For a minimum number of ten visitors, Villa Cosmiana offers traditional Tuscan lunch tastings and gourmet dinner tastings preceded by a historical tour of the Villa and its art collections as well as an oenological tour of its vaults and cellars.

Cérémonie à la Villa

For a few days or a few weeks, in sumptuous suites or superb apartments elegantly furnished and decorated with works of art and antiques borrowed from the estate’s collections, it is possible for a limited number of visitors interested in art and wine to reside at Villa Cosmiana and immerse themselves in the serenity of an old Tuscan wine estate.

The residents, never more than ten on the entire 18-hectare secluded estate, away from the modern world, yet only a 15-minute walk from the small town of Peccioli, have full access to the tranquility of the vineyards, the park, the gardens and the swimming pool and can, if they wish, learn the secrets of wine making and tasting with the cellar master.

The Art

Atmosphere of luxury and elegance

The new collections which range from classical Greco-Roman archeology to contemporary European painting with a strong focus on the French and Italian 18th century, continue to illustrate the spirit and taste of its past owners and recreate that eclectic atmosphere of luxury and elegance which reigned over the estate from the 18th century to the 1930s.
